On August 17, Chen of SM super-group EXO made his official Japanese debut with 1st Mini ALbum "Polaris".

Chen's first Japanese mini album Polaris, comprising of six songs including title track Light Of My Life, dropped on August 17 at 6pm KST (7pm AEST).

This marks Chen's first solo album release since Last Scene in November 2022, and his debut Japanese solo project.

Lead single Light Of My Life, which is accompanied by a cinematic MV, is reminiscent of Chen's previous Korean solo tracks, and highlights the singer's lauded vocals that he is renowned for both as a member of EXO and as an individual.

Alongside Light Of My Life, the mini album includes pre-release tracks My Sunshine, Mirage of Flower, On the road, FREE WORLD and Break Out. Each track was made available on digital streaming platforms before the complete album release on August 17.

Chen is most famously known as the main vocalist of SM Entertainment's legendary boy group EXO, who celebrated their 11th debut anniversary this year.

EXO are icons within the Kpop industry, renowned for their incredible performances and vocals, releasing tracks such as Love Shot, The Eve, Monster and, most recently, Cream Soda.

As well as releasing solo albums, Chen has previously been involved in a number of individual projects, including his song Bloom as part of SM's "STATION" project released in May 2023.

Chen has also been involved in several Original Soundtracks for renowned dramas and films such as Descendant's Of The Sun, Scarlet Heart, and Doctor Lawyer, among others.
