NCT DOJAEJUNG: New K-pop trio launches their debut EP “Perfume”

Introducing NCT DOJAEJUNG, the latest sub-unit launched under SM Entertainment’s powerhouse K-pop group NCT. Today, this trio of standout vocalists – consisting of DOYOUNG, JAEHYUN and JUNGWOO – launch their eagerly anticipated debut EP “Perfume”. The six-track EP is an alluring collection of pulsating R&B that highlight the trio’s pristine vocal harmonies and presence. ‘Perfume’ sets the tone, opening with an acapella before a rubbery, electro-funk bassline kicks in. The seductive track conveys the desire to leave one’s scent on a lover.
The soaring chorus on ‘Kiss’ highlights the group’s killer falsettos amid a dreamy mid-tempo R&B track while the groove-driven‘Dive’ renders rich harmonies over wavy synths, bringing to life the lyrics akin to falling in love with going underwater.
Love is a recurring theme throughout NCT DOJAEJUNG’s debut release. On ‘Strawberry Sunday’, the addictive funk track, is the perfect upbeat soundtrack for a springtime romance. The sentimental ballad ‘안녕 (Ordinary)’ is about expressing your true feelings towards the other that couldn’t be said in a casual mood. Meanwhile, ‘후유증 (Can We Go Back)’ is about wanting to revisit the past after one’s lover has left. The song first introduced the world to NCT DOJAEJUNG when the trio performed it on NCT 127’s most recent headline tour ‘NEO CITY : – SEOUL THE LINK+’.
In the lead up to the EP’s release; NCT DOJAEJUNG released a series of vignettes on YouTube with teasers of the new music. Labelled <THE MUSIC FILM> ‘Triangular Theory of Love’, these short films headlined by each member represented three elements: passion, intimacy and commitment.

NCT DOJAEJUNG consists of NCT members DOYOUNG, JAEHYUN, and JUNGWOO. All three are well-known for their excellent vocal and performance skills, as well as their impressive visuals. They have participated in NCT’s previous group projects including “NCT 2018 EMPATHY”, “NCT RESONANCE Pt. 2 – The 2nd Album”, “Universe – The 3rd Album”.
They are also members of NCT 127, who recently completed a world tour, in which NCT DOJAEJUNG performed for the first time as a unit. With 3.9M+ monthly Spotify listeners, 15M+ Instagram followers, and 8.9M+ Twitter followers, NCT 127 is known for having not only a loyal and active fanbase but also amazing hit songs and impressive stage performances.
NCT 127 is the acronym for “Neo Culture Technology” and the number 127, which represents the longitudinal coordinate of Seoul, Korea, the home of K-pop. The band made its debut in July 2016 with the mega-hit “Fire Truck” and have since found great success with massive singles “Cherry Bomb” and “Simon Says.” Members include TAEIL, JOHNNY, TAEYONG, YUTA, DOYOUNG, JAEHYUN, JUNGWOO, MARK, and HAECHAN.
NCT 127 has reached the Top 20 of Australia’s ARIA Charts on three occasions, peaking as high as #3 in 2022 with ‘2 Baddies - The 4th Album’.
